Daniel Stevens

Founder and CEO of Honest Tax Solutions

In 2009, Daniel resigned from his position as General Manager at Overnight Prints, the second largest online printing company in the world. During his time there, Daniel got to know many business professionals needing print marketing for their profession. Conversations evolved into the subject of finance and taxes. Business clients became personal clients, as they evolved into one in the same when seeking tax advice. Soon after leaving Overnight Prints, Daniel started a business named Five Thousand Five Tax Concepts, which began to consult with small business owners navigating through the daunting IRS and State codes. The reason for the play on words when naming the business was because the IRS internal system was (and still is) so archaic, that almost every time he called them, he would get a different answer from the agent that answered the call.

The bottom line when dealing with the IRS and State is that, although they do follow their own tax laws and regulations, they are very subjective. Due to human nature and its interpretation of IRS laws, there seems to be “Five Thousand and Five” different possible outcomes when dealing with the IRS. Business clients became personal clients, as they evolved into one in the same when seeking tax advice.

Daniel has now over a decade of personal experience in audit, tax preparation, tax debt negotiation and resolution with basic IRS agents, as well as extensive conversations with Senior Revenue Officers, the Tax Payers Advocate Board, and even filing Due Process Hearings which has led to appearances in Tax Court.

Having now reviewed and consulted on approximately 81,500 cases involving business and personal tax debt from clients living all over the United States, Daniel’s knowledge of tax law and experience often exceeds the knowledge and experience of the IRS agent that Daniel speaks with.

This expertise now reduces the old concept of “Five Thousand and Five” possible outcomes to just a few. Daniel’s personal reputation and his dedicated team at HTS speak for themselves. Regardless of the client’s situation, Daniel is confident that he can craft a better resolution than any of our clients can on their own or with the help of another tax firm.

After being hired by various tax resolution companies in Southern California, Daniel found that most companies did not have the same morals and ethics that he had. They offered a “cookie cutter” resolution which was not always in the client’s best interest. The tax resolution industry’s tarnished image frustrated Daniel immensely. That frustration motivated him to create and launch Honest Tax Solutions in 2014. His vision: Proudly serve businesses, individuals and families with ethical, honest and timely results for tax resolution and tax planning.

In his spare time, Daniel enjoys volunteering at the Special Olympics and supporting veterans. Rumor has it that he can often be found in the mountains fishing and listening to country music or at the beach watching the sunset.
